MELAKA: The state government will establish Bank Inovasi Melaka in October to collect research products that have the potential to be highlighted and commercialised in the market.

State Science, Technology, Innovation and Digital Communications Committee chairman, Fairul Nizam Roslan, said the setting up of the innovation bank would also involve cooperation from innovation-related companies, higher education institutions and local authorities (PBT).

"Bank Inovasi Melaka will be a platform to commercialise innovation and design products produced by any researcher in the state, including school students, institutions of higher learning, government departments and agencies as well as the private sector.

"It will also help to check the validity and authenticity of a product before it is taken for patenting," he told reporters after appearing as a guest on 'Apa Kabau YB' segment on Melaka FM at the Melaka Broadcasting Department, Jalan Taming Sari here today.
