Introduction

Bank Inovasi @Melaka (BIM) is one of the Innovation Idea Management Systems in the state of Melaka. BIM is part of the in-house development initiative under the Melaka Research and Development Center (RICE Melaka @UTeM), which was established on March 24, 2023.

BIM serves as a platform and data repository for storing innovation-related data. Through the data repository in Bank Inovasi, users can access and gather data, and search for information from the database. This Innovation Bank can also present data in visual and interactive formats. Additionally, it is equipped with security and privacy features through "enforce user access." BIM is best understood as a Data Management System (DBMS) or Central Data Repository (RSD). It can be used as a reference and search location for registered innovation projects/products. Users can easily conduct innovation idea searches based on keywords.

BIM aims to be the Data Center for innovation projects/products related to science, technology, and innovation (STI) in the state of Melaka.

Mission

To provide reliable, up-to-date, and comprehensive STI information through an efficient information management system to support socio-economic development policies in the state of Melaka.

Objectives

  • To become the primary reference center for strategic STI information in the state of Melaka to support the needs of the STI community through quality innovation knowledge management.
  • To facilitate the flow and access of STI information among the government sector, private sector, students, and the community to support the state of Melaka's STI development policy.

BIM Registration

For registration, each participant needs to register their innovation projects/products as a solution to the given problem statements according to the following business cases. Each project/product is based on the FOUR (4) Strategic Socio-Economic Development Core of the state of Melaka as found in the Melaku Maju Jaya Strategic Plan (PSMJ 2035) (page 67).

Participation Registration

The participation registration is open ONLINE ALL YEAR ROUND through the official BIM portal at https://inovasimelaka.melaka.gov.my.

Requirements & Registration Criteria.

For registration, each participant needs to register an innovative project/product as a solution to the given problem statement based on the following business cases. Each project/product should be based on the FOUR (4) Strategic Socio-Economic Development Cores of the state of Melaka as found in the Melaku Maju Jaya Strategic Plan (PSMJ 2035) (p. 67).

Every registration must comply with the set terms and competition criteria. Any fraud or ethical violation may result in the cancellation of your participation.

Participation involves FIVE (5) categories:

Category 1: Public Sector (Consisting of government employees from the same agency or a combination of agencies, registered under the agency's name)

Category 2: General Public/Industry (Consisting of individuals/self-employed workers/private companies)

Category 3: Higher Education Institution Students (Consisting of students currently enrolled in higher education institutions, registered under the institution's name)

Category 4: Secondary School and Primary School Students (Consisting of students aged 10-17 still attending school, registered under the school's name)

Category 5: Community (Consisting of community associations/NGOs registered under the association or neighborhood watch's name)

Registration is FREE and open to all Malaysian citizens in groups where each team must consist of AT LEAST two (2) individuals and a MAXIMUM of ten (10) individuals only.
